Cambodia, Iran Strike Tourism Partnership Deal

(MENAFN) Cambodia and Iran formalized a tourism partnership agreement on Monday through a Memorandum of Understanding, Cambodian Ministry of Tourism officials announced in a statement.

The pact was executed between Cambodian Minister of Tourism Huot Hak and Reza Salehi Amiri, Iranian minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, during the 26th Session of the United Nations Tourism General Assembly.

Hak highlighted Iran's demographic advantage, noting its population exceeding 90 million represents a significant opportunity for Cambodian tourism development.

The agreement positions Cambodia to broaden its presence across Middle Eastern markets, strengthen Muslim-friendly tourism offerings, and develop enhanced tourism products including heritage experiences designed to attract Iranian travelers, he said.
